“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure?” No one gives meaning to this phrase like a couple of lovely COLLEGE STATION, TX gals from HGTV’s new wonderful, magical, crazy awesome, madness of a show, “Junk Gypsies”. They come all the way from Gypsyville, USA and by way of ‘junking’, the down-home, biscuit-lovin’, gun-slingin’, not-afraid-to-get-dirty sisters Amie, and Jolie, with the help of their precious family, create well, masterpieces.. out of well, junk. These girls totally get me. Aaaaand, their store/wearhouse is in Round Top, TX whichhhh happens to be just a short hour drive from my cozy cottage in College Station
Just a few of The Junk Gypsy’s design inspirations:
Are you, too, thinking “ahhhhh……” ?!?!!
The Blake Shelton/Miranda Lambert wedding at Don Strange Ranch in Boerne (woot-woot, Kels!) was absolutely the mind-blowing work of none other than (you should know this by now..) The Junk Gypsy Co.
And Miranda’s tour bus…
and Miranda’s Airstream…
AND Dierks Bentley’s Airstream… & I have no doubt the list is going to continue growing, growing, growing. Did I mention the girls also have precious clothes, accessories, and jewelry?!
Twice yearly, the Junk Gypsies transform an ordinary cow pasture into a gypsy-style star-lit wonderland for their legendary “Junk-O-Rama Prom.” Now please tell me this doesn’t just tickle your tum?? Mark my words: One way or another, this girl WILL attend this shindig made of beautiful chaos, and dance holes in my boots alongside the Junk Gypsies!
So, to the belles of the cow pasture ball that so genius-ly transform old mailboxes into a silverware holders, create a lamp out of old shot-gun target bean cans, and rambunctiously turn four walls into a storybook, what do y’all say we meet up at the Chicken on Northgate & listen to some Willie, Waylon, & Merle, while I just take in all of your awesomeness?! Because really, girls, you’re dazzlin’! (In a total classy southern lady, rockstar kind of way.)
Tune in to see the girls every Saturday night on HGTV at 7/6c!
(Yup, it just played. and yup, it was awesome. Canoes, flashlights, & tailgates may or may not have made me wish I was an 11 year-old boy scout. And by may or may not, I mean it did.)
